The swamp ash body is sandblasted, which cuts away the softer wood between the grain lines and leaves a raised grain texture you can see and feel. The black finish is satin. The matte black headstock carries a silver Dunable logo, and nickel hardware balances out the dark finish. It weighs 8.14 lb.

The maple neck has a C carve (.860" at the 1st fret, .930" at the 12th), which gives it a full, substantial shape. It's a set neck, so it has a solid, resonant connection to the body. The fretboard is pale moon ebony with no face dots, and Luminlay side dots glow in low light so you can find your place on a dark stage. It has a 12" radius and 22 Jescar FW57100 stainless steel frets on a 25.5" scale. Stainless frets stay smooth for bends and resist wear far longer than nickel. The nut is black TUSQ at 1.65". Graph Tech Ratio tuners give every string the same pitch change per turn, so tuning is quick and precise. A Grover Tune-O-Matic and a Kluson JB tailpiece anchor the strings.

The pickups are a pair of Dunable Cave Bear humbuckers. The controls are one volume, one tone, and a 3-way toggle. The layout is simple and lets the pickups and the swamp ash do the talking. Whether you're a stoner or doom player, a heavy rock player, or a collector after a USA Custom Dunable with a rare sandblasted finish and pale moon ebony, the Gnarwhal checks the boxes. (Serial #26277) Comes with a hardshell case. Order today from Brian's Guitars, your authorized Dunable dealer.

Questions about this guitar?
