An Adirondack spruce top over Honduran mahogany back and sides, with custom Traditional Series pre-war scalloped X bracing in spruce. The Vintage Satin nitrocellulose finish is applied thin to let the top move freely, and the Dark Sunburst is framed by tortoise binding with top purfling. This 2024 example is in excellent condition with light wear: some scratches and swirling in the darker areas of the finish, one ding on the treble-side upper bout, and a handful more along the treble-side waist. An ebony fretboard with mother-of-pearl dot inlays sits over a 14-26\" compound radius, with 20 medium frets, a 25 1\/2\" scale length, and a 1 11\/16\" bone nut. The compound radius rounds out under the chording hand and flattens toward the upper frets, which makes a dreadnought neck this size feel considerably easier than the dimensions suggest. The ebony headstock veneer carries a gold mother-of-pearl inlay.
