The gloss Faded Trans Whale Blue Burst finish puts the flame front and center, and a scraped natural edge stands in for binding. Basswood keeps the weight down: this one comes in at 7.54 lbs., light enough for long gigs and session days.

The bolt-on roasted maple neck has Suhr’s Modern Elliptical carve (.800" at the 1st fret, .850" at the 12th) with a satin finish. Roasting gives the maple added stability and a smooth, broken-in feel. The pau ferro fretboard has clay dot inlays and a 10–14" compound radius with Suhr’s standard edge roll, which keeps chords comfortable down low while flattening out for fast, clean soloing up the neck. It carries 24 jumbo stainless steel frets, which stay slick for bends and outlast nickel frets by a wide margin. Specs include a 25.5" scale and a 1.650" white Tusq nut. A Gotoh 510 2-post tremolo with solid saddles and a steel block pairs with Suhr locking tuners and chrome hardware. The black gloss headstock carries Suhr’s silver decal.

The HSH layout gives the Modern Plus its range. A Suhr SSV humbucker in the neck delivers warm, vintage-voiced tone. A V60LP single-coil in the middle adds classic, low-peak Strat-style chime. An SSH+ humbucker in the bridge brings tight, high-gain punch. Volume, tone, and a 5-way blade cover the core sounds, and a push/pull on the tone knob splits both humbuckers for single-coil tones at either end. Whether you’re a session player who needs one guitar for every call, a rock or fusion player who wants high-gain clarity, or a player who wants Strat-style cleans and heavy humbucker tones in one instrument, this Modern Plus covers it. This used Modern Plus is in near-mint condition, with only light scratches and swirling in the dark areas of the headstock face. This Suhr Modern Plus (Serial #JS5E2T) comes with its original Suhr Deluxe gig bag, spec sheet, and accessories.
