This Used 2022 Charvel Guthrie Govan USA Signature HSH is built around a caramelized ash San Dimas body under a thin satin lacquer finish. The caramelizing process bakes moisture out of the wood, which lightens the guitar, ages the look, and gives the body a drier, more open response than untreated ash. The heel is specially contoured with no neck plate, so the last frets are easily reachable. At 7.8 lbs. it's an easy weight for long sets. This one is in very good condition with little to no wear beyond some scratches on the neck heel and the lower edge of the body.

The bolt-on caramelized flame maple neck gets the same heat treatment as the body, plus graphite reinforcement for stability and a truss rod adjustment wheel at the body end that lets you set relief without pulling anything apart. Charvel's Speed Neck profile with rolled fingerboard edges (.800" at the 1st fret, .875" at the 12th) is finished in hand-rubbed satin urethane so your hand never catches. The matching caramelized flame maple fingerboard runs a 12"-16" compound radius — unusual on a San Dimas — which stays rounder at the nut for chords and flattens toward the body for bends that don't fret out. It spans a full two octaves on 24 extra jumbo stainless steel frets, with ebony ring inlays around maple centers and Luminlay side dots that glow on a dark stage. Hardware is chrome throughout: a U.S.-made recessed Charvel locking tremolo with an oversized brass block for added sustain and a Tremol-No unit that lets you lock the bridge down when you want a hardtail, plus Gotoh MG-T locking tuners and a bone nut.

Electronics are three specially wound Charvel Custom MF pickups in an HSH layout, with a five-way switch and a 2-way mini-toggle that engages single-coil simulation in the bridge and neck humbucker positions. That mini-toggle is the key to the whole system — it effectively doubles the available voices, taking you from Strat-style quack and glassy in-between tones to full humbucking drive without swapping guitars. Volume and tone run through two Luminlay numbered dome knobs, readable in the dark like everything else on this instrument. Charvel spent two years developing this model with Govan, and the spec list reads like exactly what a player at that level asks for.
