The 2017 D'Angelico Premier Grateful Dead DC in the Red, White, and Blue Lightning Bolt finish celebrates the band's 60th anniversary with one of the most recognizable custom finishes D'Angelico has ever put on a guitar. Built on the double-cutaway Premier semi-hollowbody platform with a laminated maple top and body wrapped in 5-ply binding, this piece pairs D'Angelico's vintage design language to a collector's finish. This used example weighs 8.0 lbs. and remains in excellent condition, showing only light play wear — a few small clearcoat scratches and scuffs, two tiny dings in the top, and light wear in the gold hardware finish — with the original D'Angelico gigbag included.
The maple neck carries a slim, fast C-shape profile (.840" at the 1st fret, .940" at the 12th) glued to the body with a set-neck joint for solid sustain and resonance.
