This 2026 Fender Custom Shop 1966 Telecaster Heavy Relic in Faded Sonic Blue (Serial #R135490) recreates a mid-’60s Tele after decades of hard gigging. The 2-piece alder body wears a heavy relic nitrocellulose lacquer finish in Faded Sonic Blue. It has deep checking, chips, and play wear, all aged at the Custom Shop. A ‘63-style white/black/white pickguard and relic’d nickel hardware complete the look. This used guitar is in mint condition, with little to no wear beyond the factory relicing. At 7.26 lb., it’s light enough for long nights on stage.

The neck is 5/4 quartersawn maple, carved to a ’60s-style Oval “C” (.870" at the 1st fret, .930" at the 12th). It’s finished in dark-tint heavy relic nitro that feels broken-in from the first note. You get a AAA rosewood fretboard with 7mm mother-of-pearl dots, a 9.5" radius, and 21 medium jumbo frets on a 25.5" scale. A 1.650" bone nut and a ‘65–‘67-style headstock with the two-patent-number decal keep the details true to the era. The 4-bolt neck joint keeps the attack tight and direct. Relic’d Schaller F-key tuners hold pitch at the headstock. At the other end, a classic Telecaster bridge with three steel barrel saddles delivers the bright, snappy response Teles are known for.

Hand-wound ‘67 Tele single-coils sit at the neck and bridge. The bridge pickup bites and cuts through a mix, and the neck pickup is round and warm. Controls are simple: volume, tone, and a 3-way blade selector.
