Godin spec'd the Dorchester with a pair of Lace Alumitone humbuckers. You'll immediately notice that these pups look like no other pickup you've ever seen, and that's because they represent a total departure from traditional pickup designs. There's solid science behind this. Compared to copper and other metals, aluminum offers a greater current flow as electrons travel through it. The chrome area in the Alumitone design acts as a giant single turn of wire to create the flux field. All this gives Alumitones huge broadband response, allowing them to bring out the sonic nuances of your guitar and amplifier better than conventional pickups.
