This Used 2020 Whitfill S Style in Black Relic is a hand-built instrument from Robbie Whitfill's Texas shop. The alder body wears black nitrocellulose lacquer with relic work that's one of the reasons Whitfill guitars have the following they do — checked, worn, and aged in a way that reads as decades of honest playing rather than a factory process, with the wear falling exactly where a real player's arm, forearm, and pick hand would put it. At 7.1 lbs. it's a comfortable weight for long sets, and a 3-ply white pickguard against the black finish keeps the classic look intact.
