Fender Limited Edition Brent Mason Telecaster Black
Serial Number: US26000207
Weight: 8.42 lbs.

The Fender Limited Edition Brent Mason Telecaster in Black (Serial #US26000207) is part of Fender’s Stories Collection, which recreates the modified guitars behind famous players. Mason has played on well over 1,000 albums across 5 decades, including records by Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn, George Jones, Dolly Parton, Blake Shelton, and Shania Twain. His credits include a Grammy, a Musicians Hall of Fame induction, 12 ACM Guitarist of the Year awards, and 2 CMA Musician of the Year awards. This Telecaster is modeled on his number one: a ‘67 Tele he found in a Nashville guitar shop in the early ’80s and rebuilt with new pickups, new controls, and a bender, turning it into an all-in-one session guitar. The ash body wears a gloss black finish with a 3-ply black/white/black pickguard and a mix of gold- and chrome-plated hardware. It weighs 8.42 lb.

The bolt-on maple neck has a Late ’60s “C” carve (.846" at the 1st fret, .946" at the 12th fret) with a satin urethane finish that stays smooth under your hand, and a CBS-era decal on the Tele headstock. The maple fretboard carries black dot inlays, a vintage 7.25" radius, and 21 vintage tall frets on a 25.5" scale. The bone nut is 1.625" wide, and together with the deluxe cast/sealed locking tuners it holds tuning steady through heavy bender use. The 6-saddle Telecaster bridge has a Glaser Bender system built in, so you can pull pedal steel-style bends while you play. Dunlop locking strap buttons keep the guitar secure on stage.

The pickups are a Seymour Duncan Vintage Mini HB in the neck, a Hot Stack Strat STK-S2 in the middle, and a Vintage Stack Tele STK-T3B in the bridge. The noise-free stacks keep the bridge twangy and quiet, and the mini-humbucker adds warmth and body at the neck. The controls are a master volume, a dedicated middle pickup volume, a master tone, and a 3-way blade selector. The tone knob is a push/pull: push it down to bring in the middle pickup, pull it up to take it out. Blending the middle volume against the other 2 pickups gives you a wide range of sounds without changing guitars. Whether you’re a country player chasing chicken pickin’ and steel-style bends, a session player who needs one guitar to cover every call, or a collector following Fender’s Stories Collection, the Brent Mason Telecaster delivers. (Serial #US26000207) It comes with a Fender deluxe hardshell case. Order today from Brian’s Guitars, your authorized Fender dealer, while the run lasts.
