Paul Reed Smith Private Stock Tremonti Reptile Smokeburst
Paul Reed Smith Private Stock Tremonti Reptile Smokeburst
Serial Number: 428106
Private Stock Number: #12402
Weight: 8.82 lbs.
This Paul Reed Smith Private Stock Tremonti in Reptile Smokeburst (Serial #428106, Private Stock #12402) takes Mark Tremonti’s signature PRS and builds it with hand-selected woods and details from PRS’s Private Stock shop. The top is Private Stock-grade East Coast curly maple over a mahogany body. The Reptile Smokeburst finish brings out the figure, and scraped binding leaves a clean natural-maple edge around the top. The body and neck are both finished in high-gloss nitro. It weighs 8.82 lb.
The roasted maple set neck uses PRS’s Pattern Thin carve (53/64" at the 1/2 fret, 57/64" at the 12 1/2 fret), which gives you a fast, modern feel. Roasting the maple adds stability and a smooth, broken-in feel from day one. The exotic ebony fretboard has a 10" radius and 22 PRS Standard frets (.104" x .047") on PRS’s 25" scale. The nut is 1 11/16" wide and made from PRS synthetic material.
The Private Stock appointments carry through to the details. Brown mother of pearl birds with white mother of pearl outlines run up the fretboard, and the same materials make up the Private Stock eagle on the exotic ebony headstock veneer. Smoked black hardware complements the finish: a PRS Gen III tremolo with a trem-up route that lets you pull the bar up to raise pitch, plus PRS Phase III set-screw locking tuners that hold the tuning steady through heavy bar work.
A pair of PRS Tremonti humbuckers handle the tone, with a volume and tone control for each pickup and a 3-way toggle. Separate controls let you set a lead level on one pickup and a rhythm level on the other, then switch between them on the fly. The Tremonti pickups are built for tight, heavy rhythm tones and focused leads that cut. Whether you’re a hard rock or metal player after Tremonti’s sound, a lead player who lives on the whammy bar, or a collector of PRS Private Stock instruments, this Private Stock Tremonti delivers. (Serial #428106, Private Stock #12402) It comes with a PRS Private Stock ATA molded hardshell case. Order today from Brian’s Guitars, your authorized PRS dealer.
