First introduced in 1998, the Comet became a proven favorite of guitarists seeking authentic vintage tone. Utilizing all-tube circuitry, traditional spring reverb, and a specially voiced, highly resonant cabinet, the Comet captures the true experience of playing a well-worn vintage amplifier - both in tone and feel.

This Tone King Comet 40 was hand built in Baltimore, MD by Mark Bartel. It is a 40 watt dual mono block design (two 20 watt mono amps, each speaker is powered by its own 20 watt amp). The lead channel is tweed inspired with lots of original character. Rhythm channel is blackface inspired clean with extended frequency response. Real spring reverb with a full size tank delivers lush, classic reverb tones. This Comet 40 is dressed in a beautifully distinctive two-tone finish for an amp that looks as stunning as it sounds. Comes with a two button footswitch. One switch is for channel switching and the other is a "half-power" switch that turns on/off one of the speakers when in the lead channel. All of these wonderful attributes make the Tone King Comet 40 a very collectible modern classic!
