1995 PRS November Guitar Of The Month Tenor McCarty Black Cherry

Brian (Owner, Brian's Guitars): The PRS Guitars Guitar of the Month run from 1995 was a pivotal moment in the company's history, laying the groundwork for what would become the Private Stock program. Each month, PRS introduced a guitar featuring unique specifications, including experimental inlays, new pickup designs, hardware prototypes, and even entirely new body shapes. This series allowed PRS to push the boundaries of guitar craftsmanship, refining ideas that would later influence their core lineup and high-end custom builds. Many of the design innovations first seen in this run became staples in PRS future offerings, solidifying its reputation for blending artistry with cutting-edge engineering.

February 5, 1996 (note written by Paul Smith):
In the Fall of 1995, Joe Knaggs came to me with plans to build a Seven String PRS guitar. After some discussion, we both agreed that a Baritone/Tenor guitar would be a much more interesting project, since so many musicians are using modified tunings.  It was originally designed to tune B to B, but was too low.  I tuned it C to C and it came alive.  This guitar is cool!

This 22 fret tenor guitar was hand built by Joseph Knaggs with the help of Dean Nitsch and Dave Hazel.  this is the eleventh 1995 Guitar Of The Month.  The instrument was produced from our most beautiful select wood out of my private stash.  It has a single headstock bird which is my personal logo.  this is a beautiful guitar with a very ppowerful sound.  After playing this instrument, I want to make this model!
