1968 Danelectro Slimline 3-Color Sunburst
Weight: 7.36 lbs.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition, 1968 model. Guitar shows wear consistant with its age. Some scratches, dings, and checking in the finish on the body and neck. Hardware shows some light tarnish. Comes with non-original Levy's gigbag.

This 1968 Danelectro Slimline in 3-Color Sunburst is a vintage piece from Danelectro's classic era, built with the brand's signature Masonite body and hardboard neck construction that gave these guitars their uniquely light weight and bright, twangy voice. At 7.36 lbs., this semi-hollow Slimline shows honest wear consistent with its age — scratches, dings, and finish checking on the body and neck, along with light tarnish on the hardware — the kind of relic character collectors look for in an original vintage instrument. It comes with a non-original Levy's gigbag (not the period-correct Danelectro case).

The hardboard neck carries a comfortable C-shape profile (.830" at the 1st fret, .855" at the 12th), bolted to the body in classic Danelectro fashion. A rosewood fretboard with white dot inlays, a 14" radius, 22 medium jumbo frets, and a 25" scale length keeps the feel vintage-correct and surprisingly playable, backed by a wide 1.75" aluminum nut. The 6-in-line headstock carries a raised Danelectro logo and vintage-style bar tuners, while a 2-screw tremolo with rosewood bridge in nickel/chrome hardware delivers that unmistakable Danelectro wobble and twang.

A pair of Danelectro's famous lipstick-tube single-coil pickups gives this Slimline its signature bright, jangly, slightly lo-fi tone — the sound behind countless surf, garage, and classic rock records — controlled through dual volume, dual tone, and individual pickup on/off switches for genuinely flexible tone-shaping. Whether you're a collector after an authentic '60s Danelectro, a player chasing that vintage lipstick-pickup twang for surf and garage rock, or a studio player who wants a lightweight alternative with real character, this Slimline delivers. This 3-Color Sunburst 1968 Slimline includes a non-original Levy's gigbag. Order today from Brian's Guitars.
