This 1974 Fender Stratocaster in 3-Color Sunburst is a CBS-era Strat with original electronics (Serial #573709). The potentiometers date to the 51st week of 1974. It has an alder body in a polyurethane finish and weighs 7.4 lb. This is a used vintage guitar in very good condition for its age. The body shows dings and finish wear-through, and the back and sides of the neck have a handful of nicks, dings, and chips.
The maple neck has a C profile (.830" at the 1st fret, .910" at the 12th) and a one-piece maple fretboard with black dot inlays. You get a 7.25" vintage radius, 21 medium frets, a 25.5" scale, and a 1.595" bone nut. The neck attaches with Fender's 3-bolt Micro-Tilt joint, which lets you adjust neck angle without shims. The bullet truss rod nut puts relief adjustments right at the headstock. The large '70s headstock carries the black CBS decal with gold outline and F-stamp tuners. Hardware includes a 6-screw tremolo with bent steel saddles and a 3-ply white pickguard.
Three gray-back stagger-pole single-coils run through one volume, two tones, and a 5-way blade pickup selector. It's the classic Strat sound: glassy neck tones, snappy bridge twang, quacky in-between positions, and plenty of clarity for clean and edge-of-breakup playing.
