This 1991 Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster in Blonde is an early Custom Shop build from the John Page era, and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by Page himself. An ash body in gloss nitrocellulose, the Blonde finish letting the grain show through, paired with a 4-ply tortoise pickguard. At 8.82 lbs. it's a substantial Strat with the resonance that ash delivers. Condition is very good with wear consistent with a guitar from 1991 — scratches, swirls, and dings in the body finish, and a handful of small dings on the back of the neck. It also carries a Matt Umanov Guitars sticker on the back of the headstock and a 2004 receipt from that shop in the case, a nice piece of provenance from a well-known New York guitar shop.
The flame maple neck is a C carve (.820" at the 1st fret, .905" at the 12th) in gloss, bolted on with a 4-bolt joint. An ebony fretboard with abalone dot inlays sets it apart from a standard Strat — a Custom Shop touch that adds tightness and articulation to the attack — with a 9.5" radius, 22 medium jumbo frets, 25.5" scale length, and a 1.725" synthetic bone nut. The small headstock keeps the vintage silhouette. Hardware is nickel and chrome throughout: a 2-post synchronized tremolo with block saddles and Fender-branded tuners, with the original tremolo bar included in the case.
The electronics have been upgraded to a full set of Lollars — a Blackface in the neck and Specials in the middle and bridge — wired to a volume, two tones, and a 5-way blade selector. That's a well-chosen combination: the Blackface neck pickup delivers warm, glassy clarity for clean work and vocal leads, while the Special bridge brings more output and cut than a vintage-spec pickup without losing Strat character. The original pickups are included in the case if you want to return it to spec. Whether you're a blues or classic rock player who wants an early Custom Shop Strat that's already been sorted, a session guitarist after that Lollar clarity, or a collector who values a John Page-signed COA, this one delivers. This 1991 Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster (Serial #E945668) includes its tweed G&G hardshell case, the original pickups, the tremolo bar, and the signed Certificate of Authenticity.
