Aristides 060SR Nylon Desert Raw
Serial Number: 4383
Weight: 6.64 lbs.

The Aristides 060SR Nylon in Desert Raw is one of the more unusual instruments in the Aristides catalog: a nylon-string guitar that borrows its composite construction and electric-guitar playability from the rest of the line, then adds a multiscale fretboard. Aristides molds the body and neck as one continuous piece from Arium, their proprietary composite: a rigid outer shell wrapped around a resonant core, which gives the guitar the airy response of a chambered instrument with none of the seasonal movement of timber. That last part matters more on a nylon-string than almost anywhere else — nylon guitars are traditionally the most humidity-sensitive instruments a player owns, and this one simply doesn't move. Each shell takes roughly eight hours of hand-layering — topcoat, glass fiber, carbon, and more, built up inside a custom mold — before Arium is distributed evenly through the interior for consistent resonance. Every body is acoustically tested, weighed, and approved, then cured twice in a heated chamber. This one lands at 6.64 lbs. in a Raw finish, with a warm Desert body, matching Desert headstock, and gold hardware.

The neck is Arium as well, carved to a C profile (.75" at the 1st fret, .79" at the 12th) and left Raw to match the body. This is where the 060SR separates itself from a traditional classical guitar: a 1.72" Graphtech TUSQ nut, a 10–16" compound radius, and 24 stainless steel Jescar FW57110 frets on a Richlite fretboard with double offset black dot inlays. Those are electric-guitar dimensions, not classical ones, so an electric player can pick this up and immediately play nylon-string parts without relearning their hand position. The multiscale layout runs 25" to 26.5", adding tension and clarity on the bass side while keeping the treble strings comfortable. One-piece body/neck construction means there's no joint to work around, so sustain runs uninterrupted and upper-fret access stays wide open — a genuine rarity on a nylon-string instrument.

A piezo bridge handles the output, running with no onboard controls at all, so what reaches your preamp or DI is the pure, unshaped signal from the bridge. That's a deliberate choice: it keeps the signal path as short and transparent as possible and puts all the shaping downstream where you have real tools for it. Whether you're a session player who needs authentic nylon tones without switching to an unfamiliar neck, a hybrid player folding nylon textures into an electric-driven set, or a touring musician who's tired of a classical guitar going out of tune the moment the room changes temperature, this fills a gap almost nothing else on the market covers. This Aristides 060SR Nylon in Desert Raw (Serial #4383) includes a deluxe gig bag. Order today from Brian's Guitars, your authorized Aristides dealer.
