Aristides 080SR Nylon Black Raw
Aristides 080SR Nylon Black Raw
Serial Number: 4398
Weight: 7.52 lbs.
The Aristides 080SR Nylon in Black Raw is one of the rarest things in the Aristides catalog and arguably in the guitar market at large: an extended-range nylon-string built on the 080 platform, with a 2.25" nut, a 26.5" to 28" multiscale layout, and the same composite construction and electric-guitar playability as the rest of the line. Aristides molds the body and neck as one continuous piece from Arium, their proprietary composite: a rigid outer shell wrapped around a resonant core, which gives the guitar the airy response of a chambered instrument with none of the seasonal movement of timber. That last part matters more on a nylon-string than almost anywhere else — nylon guitars are traditionally the most humidity-sensitive instruments a player owns, and this one simply doesn't move. Each shell takes roughly eight hours of hand-layering — topcoat, glass fiber, carbon, and more, built up inside a custom mold — before Arium is distributed evenly through the interior for consistent resonance. Every body is acoustically tested, weighed, and approved, then cured twice in a heated chamber. This one lands at 7.52 lbs. in a Raw finish, with a Black body, matching Black headstock, and black hardware — a completely blacked-out instrument, right down to an unadorned fretboard with no inlays at all.
The neck is Arium as well, carved to a C profile (.75" at the 1st fret, .79" at the 12th) and left Raw to match the body. This is where the 080SR separates itself from anything in the classical world: a 2.25" Graphtech TUSQ nut, a 10–16" compound radius, and 24 stainless steel Jescar FW57110 frets on a Richlite fretboard. The 26.5" to 28" multiscale layout is doing real work at this width, giving the lowest strings the length they need to hold pitch and definition under nylon tension while keeping the treble side playable. One-piece body/neck construction means there's no joint to work around, so sustain runs uninterrupted and upper-fret access stays wide open — a genuine rarity on a nylon-string instrument, and effectively unheard of on an extended-range one.
A piezo bridge handles the output, running with no onboard controls at all, so what reaches your preamp or DI is the pure, unshaped signal from the bridge. That's a deliberate choice: it keeps the signal path as short and transparent as possible and puts all the shaping downstream where you have real tools for it. Whether you're a fingerstyle or extended-range player who's been chasing nylon textures in the low register, a composer looking for a voice that doesn't exist anywhere else, or a touring musician tired of a classical guitar drifting the moment the room changes temperature, the 080SR covers ground almost nothing else on the market reaches. This Aristides 080SR Nylon in Black Raw (Serial #4398) includes a deluxe gig bag. Order today from Brian's Guitars, your authorized Aristides dealer.
