Aristides STX6SR Dark Blue Raw Multiscale
Aristides STX6SR Dark Blue Raw Multiscale
Serial Number: 4403
Weight: 8.28 lbs.
The Aristides STX6SR in Dark Blue is a 6-string multiscale built without a single piece of wood. Aristides molds the body and neck as one continuous piece from Arium, their proprietary composite: a rigid outer shell wrapped around a resonant core, which gives the guitar the airy response of a chambered instrument with none of the seasonal movement of timber. Each shell takes roughly eight hours of hand-layering — topcoat, glass fiber, carbon, and more, built up inside a custom mold — before Arium is distributed evenly through the interior for consistent resonance. Every body is acoustically tested, weighed, and approved, then cured twice in a heated chamber. This one lands at 8.28 lbs. in a Raw finish, with a deep Dark Blue body, matching Dark Blue headstock, black pickguard, and black hardware throughout. The Raw finish gives it a flat, satin-like surface that reads more like a piece of industrial design than a painted guitar.
The neck is Arium as well, carved to a comfortable C profile (.770" at the 1st fret, .800" at the 12th) and left Raw to match the body. One-piece body/neck construction means there's no joint to work around: sustain runs uninterrupted and upper-fret access is wide open. A Richlite fretboard stays clean apart from a single pearloid Aristides "A" at the 1st fret, with 24 stainless steel Jescar FW57110 frets over a 12–16" compound radius and a 1.710" Graphtech TUSQ nut. The multiscale layout is the detail that sets this one apart — most fanned-fret guitars are 7- and 8-strings, but here a modest 25" to 26" fan is applied to a standard 6-string, adding tension and definition on the bass side for drop tunings while leaving the treble strings short enough to bend easily. The fanned frets fall under the hand far more naturally than they look. An EverTune bridge locks pitch through heavy picking and hard bends, and Hipshot locking tuners make string changes quick.
Bare Knuckle Halcyon uncovered humbuckers handle both positions, wired to a volume control, a 5-way blade selector, and a toggle for coil splitting. The Halcyons are built for clarity under gain: tight low end, articulate mids, and enough headroom to keep dense chord voicings from turning to mush, with a clean-up that rewards backing off the volume. Split down to single-coil, they thin out into usable clean and funk territory, so the STX6SR covers considerably more ground than its metal-leaning looks suggest. Whether you're a prog player chasing note separation, a rhythm guitarist working in drop tunings who wants every string defined, or a session player who needs one instrument that simply never drifts out of tune, this is a serious tool. This Aristides STX6SR in Dark Blue (Serial #4403) includes a deluxe gig bag. Order today from Brian's Guitars, your authorized Aristides dealer.
