The change is the third mode: EarthQuaker replaced the original “M” setting with a new MOSFET clipping circuit, and that is what makes the Blumes Jr MOSFET Mod its own pedal.

The controls are simple. Gain sets the amount of drive, and Level sets the output volume. The Tone knob works as a sweep. Turn it left for more bass, keep it near the middle for more midrange, and turn it right for more treble. The 3-way clipping toggle changes the pedal’s character. L is symmetrical LED clipping, which sounds crunchy, compressed, focused, and articulate. N removes the clipping completely for open op-amp drive, so it also works as a clean boost.
