Epiphone Flying V 70s Maui Blue
Serial Number: 25081529443
Weight: 6.86 lbs

The Epiphone Flying V 70s in Maui Blue is built on the era of the design that finally made it stick. The Flying V arrived in 1958 to a lukewarm reception, picked up steam through the '60s, and then found its real home in the 1970s with hard rock players like Michael Schenker, K.K. Downing, Marc Bolan, and Steve Jones. This model targets those '70s specs specifically. The body is two-piece center-seamed mahogany in gloss Maui Blue, a bright metallic-leaning blue that plays well against the nickel hardware and white 3-ply '70s-style pickguard. At 6.86 lbs. it's lighter than most players expect from a V.

The mahogany neck is a Rounded C profile (.800" at the 1st fret, .910" at the 12th fret) with a volute at the headstock junction, matching the vintage construction detail. It's a glued-in set neck, which is where the V gets its sustain. An ebony fretboard with pearloid dot inlays, a 12" radius, and 22 medium jumbo frets sit on a 24.75" scale with a 1.69" Graph Tech nut. The headstock is the shorter '70s-era arrowhead shape, fitted with Grover Rotomatic tuners with spade buttons. Strings anchor through an Epiphone LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and LockTone stop bar tailpiece for a solid, repeatable setup.

Electronics are a pair of Epiphone T-Type PRO humbuckers, voiced for the fat, thick tone and long sustain that defined the Flying V models players gravitated to in that decade. They're wired to individual volume controls and a master tone with a 3-way toggle, all capped with Witch Hat knobs. A '70s-style truss rod cover with a hotstamped Epiphone logo finishes the era-correct details. Whether you're a hard rock or metal player who wants the shape and the sound that goes with it, a classic rock guitarist chasing that '70s V voice, or someone who just wants a retro-futuristic guitar that gets noticed on stage, this one delivers. This Flying V 70s (Serial #25081529443) includes a premium gig bag. Order today from Brian's Guitars, your authorized Epiphone dealer.
