The Fender American Professional Jazzmaster in 3-Color Sunburst (Serial #US26055627) is an offset guitar with more tonal options than a traditional Jazzmaster. The body is alder with a gloss polyurethane 3-Color Sunburst finish. A 4-ply tortoiseshell pickguard and nickel/chrome hardware finish off the look. This one weighs 8.2 lb.

The maple neck has a Deep “C” carve, rolled fingerboard edges, and a “Super-Natural” satin urethane finish that feels smooth from the first note. A newly sculpted heel gives you easier access to the upper frets. The rosewood fretboard has white dot inlays, a 9.5" radius, and 22 narrow tall frets on a 25.5" scale. The nut is bone and measures 1.685". The neck attaches with a 4-bolt asymmetrical joint, and the Micro-Tilt adjustment lets you set the neck angle without taking the neck off. The Panorama Jazzmaster tremolo has a pop-in arm and covers everything from classic Jazzmaster shimmer to deeper dives. The ClassicGear J-Bridge keeps intonation and tuning stable. Fender standard cast/sealed staggered tuners complete the hardware.

The pickups are a pair of V-Mod III single-coil Jazzmaster pickups. With the slide switch down, the lead circuit gives you a 3-position toggle, a master volume, and a master tone. Push the tone knob to tap the bridge pickup. That takes it from a strong, throaty sound to a lower-output vintage tone. Flip the slide switch up and the rhythm circuit puts both pickups in series for a thicker, louder sound, with its own thumbwheel volume and tone. That means you can preset two separate sounds and switch between them with one move.
