The Fender Custom Shop '52 Telecaster Super Heavy Relic in Aged Nocaster Blonde is almost as far as the Custom Shop takes the aging process. Super Heavy Relic means deep finish wear, checked flash coat nitro, worn-through spots, and relic'd hardware — this looks like a guitar that spent seventy years on the road, not seventy days in a case. The body is two-piece ash sorted for lightweight, which puts this one at 7.5 lbs. A relic'd '51 Nocaster pickguard and vintage silver Tele decal finish the blackguard-era look.

The riftsawn maple neck is carved to a '57-style Soft "V" (.880" at the 1st fret, .990" at the 12th fret) with a dark tint flash coat nitro finish and a matching riftsawn maple fretboard. Riftsawn stock is chosen for stability and consistent grain, and the Soft "V" is a substantial handful that gives you something to push against.
