This Gibson Custom 1957 Les Paul Custom Limited Edition Reissue in Korina Antique Natural is a rarity — a build out of the Gibson Custom Shop in Nashville that reimagines the original "Black Beauty" concept in Korina instead of the usual mahogany. It's VOS-aged (Vintage Original Spec) for a period correct look and feel, and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. Weight is 9.6 lbs. The Korina body and top show off a golden grain the standard Les Paul Custom never had, finished in gloss nitrocellulose Antique Natural with multi-ply binding on both the top and back for that unmistakable Custom-level look. There's no weight relief anywhere in this build, so it's a full, solid, resonant slab of Korina.
The neck is Korina too, carved to a 1950s Chunky D profile (.915" at the 1st fret, 1.020" at the 12th) with long-tenon set-neck construction for maximum sustain and rock-solid stability. The ebony fretboard has mother-of-pearl block inlays and single-ply white binding, a 12" radius, 22 medium jumbo frets, a 24.75" scale length, and a 1 11/16" nylon nut. The headstock carries both the Gibson logo and the iconic Custom split diamond, both inlaid in mother-of-pearl. Gold hardware finishes the look throughout: an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, a stopbar tailpiece, and Kluson Waffleback tuners with single-ring keystone buttons.
