The PRS Mark Tremonti Signature in Fire Red Smokeburst is Alter Bridge and Creed guitarist Mark Tremonti's USA-built signature model, developed directly with PRS after Tremonti — a longtime PRS admirer who couldn't afford one in his younger years — was sent an early McCarty model on tour and later worked with PRS to build a guitar suited specifically to his aggressive, palm-mute-heavy rhythm style and thrash, shred, and blues-influenced lead playing. The mahogany body is topped with curly maple in a premium 10 top grade and scraped binding, finished in high-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer in Fire Red Smokeburst that shows off the figuring in dramatic fashion. At 9.06 lbs., it's a substantial, resonant singlecut build.
The set mahogany neck carries the dedicated Tremonti neck carve in PRS's Pattern Thin profile (53/64" at the half fret, 57/64" at the 12 1/2 fret), developed specifically to suit Tremonti's technical playing style, topped with a rosewood fretboard, PRS's signature bird inlays, and a 10" radius across 22 frets and PRS's shorter 25" scale length.
