This PRS Private Stock Custom 24 in Galaxy Fade (Serial #432579, Private Stock #12540) is a bespoke build spec’d by the Brian’s Guitars team and handcrafted in PRS’s Private Stock shop. The top is a phenomenal piece of boock-matched Private Stock-grade quilted maple finished in Galaxy Double Fade, with paua purfling that splits the outer fade from the inner. The body is black limba, finished black on the back with orange grainfill that brings out the grain. Everything is sealed in high-gloss nitro. It weighs 7.1 lb.
The neck is also black limba, with the same black finish and orange grainfill under high-gloss nitro, so it matches the back of the body. It’s carved to PRS’s Pattern Thin profile (53/64" at the 1st fret, 57/64" at the 12th fret). It’s slim enough for fast playing but still fills the hand. The ebony fretboard has curly maple bird inlays, stained to match the top and outlined in paua. It has a 10" radius, 24 frets, a 25" scale, and a 1 11/16" nut. The set-neck joint couples the neck and body for long sustain. On the headstock, the ebony veneer carries a curly maple Private Stock eagle outlined in paua.
Most Custom 24s come with a tremolo, but this one has PRS’s adjustable stoptail bridge. The stoptail anchors the strings directly to the body for solid tuning stability and a punchy attack. PRS Phase III set-screw locking tuners make string changes quick and help hold tuning. All the hardware is smoked black to match the dark back and neck.
The pickups are a pair of PRS McCarty III humbuckers, controlled by volume, tone, and a 5-way blade selector. You get a range of voices, from warm, round neck tones to clear, cutting bridge sounds.
