The PRS SE DGT in Gold Top (Serial #I031309) is the first SE version of David Grissom’s signature model. The DGT (“David Grissom Trem”) has been a mainstay of the PRS line since 2007. It’s based on the McCarty, and Grissom shaped every detail from his knowledge of vintage guitars, including the neck carve, fret choice and dressing, finish options, pickups, and control layout. The SE version keeps that design. The mahogany body has a maple top with a flame maple veneer, finished in gloss Gold Top. Scraped binding frames the top, and this one weighs 7.4 lb.

The mahogany neck has the DGT carve (27/32" at the 1st fret, 61/64" at the 12th fret) and is set into the body for sustain and warmth. The rosewood fretboard carries moon inlays, a 10" radius, and 22 PRS SE jumbo frets (.110" x .045"). The wide, low frets make bends and vibrato feel smooth. The scale is 25", and the nut is 1 21/32" wide. A PRS patented tremolo handles vibrato and returns to pitch. PRS-designed tuners and nickel hardware complete the package, and the headstock carries the SE signature logo and a “DGT” truss rod cover.

The DGT “S” humbuckers are vintage-voiced. They’re paired with Grissom’s control layout: a separate volume for each pickup, a push/pull master tone that coil-taps both humbuckers, and a 3-way toggle. With independent volumes, you can blend the middle position, clean up the neck pickup with your picking hand, or flip between preset levels without leaving the guitar. Pulling the tone knob adds single-coil sounds.
