This PRS Wood Library Mark Holcomb Signature in Yellow Tiger (Serial #0434304) is part of a bespoke run the Brian’s Guitars crew spec’d in collaboration with Mark Holcomb of Periphery. The run is just 10 guitars, split across 5 finishes and 2 tonewood combinations. This one pairs a quilt maple 10 Top with a swamp ash body. Heavy quilt figure only shows up in a small share of maple, with tops showing this much depth being even more hard to come by. The Yellow Tiger finish is sprayed in high-gloss nitro, which lets the quilt roll and shift as the light moves. Scraped binding leaves a clean natural maple edge around the top. At 6.96 lb., it’s light and easy to play for a full set.

The flame maple neck is carved to Mark Holcomb’s signature profile (53/64" at the 1/2 fret, 57/64" at the 12 1/2). The figuring carries the look from the quilt top through to the back of the neck, and the high-gloss nitro finish brings out the flame. The ebony fretboard has white binding, bird inlays, a flat 20" radius, and 24 frets on a 25.5" scale. That flat radius keeps fast legato runs and wide stretches clean. The PRS nut is 1 11/16" wide. The headstock has an ebony veneer, an inlaid signature logo, and a “Mark Holcomb” truss rod cover. The string-through PRS plate-style bridge locks the strings to the body for a tight, immediate attack. PRS Phase III locking tuners with wing buttons keep it in tune. All hardware is finished in satin black, which provides an excellent contrast to the Yellow Tiger finish.

Mark Holcomb’s signature Seymour Duncan Scarlett pickups are loaded in both positions, with the Scarlett Bass in the neck and the Scarlett Treble in the bridge.
