Paul Reed Smith Wood Library Mark Holcomb Signature Faded Blue Jean
Serial Number: 0433773
Weight: 7.34 lbs.

The PRS Wood Library Mark Holcomb Signature in Faded Blue Jean (Serial #0433773) is part of a 10-guitar run the Brian’s Guitars crew spec’d with Mark Holcomb of Periphery, split across 5 finishes and 2 tonewood combinations. This is the mahogany side of the run. A quilt maple 10 Top sits over a mahogany body, paired with a solid East Indian rosewood neck. The mahogany gives it a warm, thick foundation, and the maple top adds clarity and snap on top of it. Faded Blue Jean is a soft, worn-in denim blue, sprayed in high-gloss nitro so the quilt shows through. Scraped binding finishes the top with a natural maple edge. It weighs 7.34 lb.

The neck is what sets this one apart. Solid rosewood necks are an upgrade you rarely see outside PRS’s Wood Library and Private Stock builds. Rosewood is dense and naturally oily, so it feels smooth in the hand and adds warmth and a rounded attack. It’s carved to Mark Holcomb’s signature profile (53/64" at the 1/2 fret, 57/64" at the 12 1/2 fret) and finished in high-gloss nitro. The ebony fretboard has white binding, bird inlays, a flat 20" radius, and 24 frets on a 25.5" scale. The PRS nut is 1 11/16" wide. On the headstock, an ebony veneer holds the inlaid signature logo and a “Mark Holcomb” truss rod cover. A string-through PRS plate-style bridge gives a firm, direct response, and PRS Phase III locking tuners with wing buttons keep it in tune. Satin black hardware completes the look.

Mark’s signature Seymour Duncan Scarlett pickups are in both positions, with the Scarlett Bass at the neck and the Scarlett Treble at the bridge. Mark and Seymour Duncan built the set for low-tuned, extended-range playing. They keep heavy riffs tight and articulate and clean up well when you back off the gain. The controls are a volume, a tone, and a 5-way blade selector, which gives you more voices than a standard 3-way. That covers thick, driving rhythm, warm leads, and clean textures. Whether you’re a progressive metal guitarist, a Periphery fan chasing Mark’s spec, or a PRS collector who wants a Wood Library rosewood-neck build, this Holcomb fits right in. This one (Serial #0433773, 1 of 10 in the run) ships with a PRS ATA hardshell case. Order today from Brian’s Guitars, your authorized PRS dealer.
