The Suhr Classic S Antique in Black is an HSS-configured take on the vintage Stratocaster formula, built with a lightly aged nitrocellulose lacquer finish over a 2-piece alder body for a broken-in look and feel right out of the case. At 7.9 lbs., it's a comfortable, well-balanced platform that pairs Suhr's boutique build quality with genuine vintage-inspired styling, right down to the parchment pickguard and clay dot inlays.

The bolt-on maple neck carries Suhr's 60's C Vintage Medium profile (.830" at the 1st fret, .950" at the 12th), topped with an Indian rosewood fretboard, a 9"–12" compound radius, and 22 medium stainless steel frets for smooth bends and long fret life. A 25.5" scale length and a 1.650" Tusq nut round out the vintage-correct feel. Suhr's proprietary locking tuners keep string changes fast and tuning rock-solid, working in tandem with the Suhr 2-post tremolo, bent steel saddles, and steel block for expressive whammy use without sacrificing stability — all finished in chrome.

Electronics pair Suhr's V63 single-coils in the neck and middle positions with Suhr's SSCII silent single-coil system for authentic vintage single-coil tone without the 60-cycle hum, while the SSV humbucker in the bridge adds thicker, higher-output punch for lead work.
