The Suhr Oso in White is John Suhr's short-scale original — a design that began as a rethink of the classic short-scale T and became its own instrument. It draws on the raw simplicity of John's earliest builds and the character of the Suhr Aura, and the body and headstock were shaped together as a matched pair rather than borrowed from anywhere. The 2-piece alder body wears a gloss white finish, clean and unfussy, and at 8.0 lbs. it has real mass behind it. The Aura headstock with its 3x3 tuner layout, slight back angle, and silver script Suhr decal is the visual signature.

The roasted maple neck is carved to an Even C Slim profile (.800" at the 1st fret, .880" at the 12th) with a satin finish and bolt-on construction. The Indian rosewood fretboard carries clay dot inlays, a 10" radius with a standard edge roll, 22 heavy nickel frets, and a 1.687" Tusq nut. The headline number is the 24.625" scale length: shorter scale means lower string tension, so bends take less effort and the feel loosens up considerably, while the tighter fret spacing puts stretches within easier reach. Blind fret ends are precision-milled on every Oso, so there's nothing to catch your hand as you move up the neck. Hardware is chrome, with Suhr locking tuners and a Suhr 2-post tremolo running solid saddles and a steel block.

Electronics are a pair of Suhr SSV humbuckers, neck and bridge, wired to a volume, a tone, and a 5-way blade selector — more switching positions than the standard two-humbucker toggle allows. The SSV is Suhr's PAF-voiced workhorse: the bridge stays clear and articulate under gain instead of getting congested, and the neck delivers warm, round lead tones with the note definition intact.
