This 1991 Fender American Standard Telecaster in 3-Color Sunburst (Serial #N1915905) is a USA-made Tele from the early years of the American Standard line. It has an alder body finished in gloss polyurethane, with a 3-Color Sunburst that fades from a dark edge to an amber center. A 3-ply white pickguard completes the classic look. It weighs 8.54 lb. The design is simple, and nearly 35 years in, it still covers a lot of ground.

The bolt-on maple neck has a C shape (.825" at the 1st fret, .890" at the 12th fret) with a gloss urethane finish. It’s a full-feeling neck that fills the hand without getting clubby. The one-piece-look maple fretboard has black dot inlays, a 9.5" radius, and 22 medium jumbo frets. The radius feels natural for chords, and the medium jumbo wire makes bends easier than vintage-style frets do. Other specs include a 25.5" scale and a 1.685" synthetic bone nut. The bolt-on joint gives the Tele its quick, snappy attack. The Telecaster bridge has 6 block saddles, so each string can be intonated on its own. Fender-branded sealed tuners sit on the 6-in-line headstock, and the hardware is nickel/chrome.

A pair of American Standard single-coil pickups run through master volume, master tone, and a 3-way blade selector. The bridge pickup has the bright twang a Tele is known for. The neck pickup is warmer and rounder, and the middle position combines the two for a hollow, glassy tone. Whether you’re a country player chasing chicken-pickin’ snap, a blues or rock player who wants a straightforward workhorse, or a collector looking for an early-’90s USA Fender, this Tele earns its spot. This used example is in very good condition, with scratches, swirling, and a few small dings on the body, light wear on the hardware, some discolored spots on the pickguard, and a few nicks on the back of the neck. (Serial #N1915905) It comes with its original Fender molded hardshell case. Order today from Brian’s Guitars, your authorized Fender dealer.
