Used 1996 Gibson ES-335 Dot Figured Top Sunrise Orange Limited Edition
Serial Number: 92356482
Weight: 8.28 lbs.
Condition: Very Good condition, 1996 model. Shows a few dings and scratches on the top, one especially on the lower bout. Patch of strum wear. Knobs show some internal cracks, still 100% functional. One small stain on the inside of the back that can be seen through the F hole. The nickel hardware shows a fair amount of tarnish. The interior label has fallen off but is included in the case. Some checking at the fretboard binding. Aftermarket Jim Wagner Crossroads Humbuckers installed, original '57 Classic humbuckers included. Original Gibson Brown hardshell with pink interior.

This 1996 Gibson ES-335 Dot Figured Top in Sunrise Orange is a limited edition build from Gibson's Nashville plant, and the finish is the reason it stands out — Sunrise Orange over a figured maple top, a color Gibson has used sparingly across the ES line. Cream binding, nitrocellulose lacquer throughout, and a semi-hollow figured maple body at 8.28 lbs. Serial #92356482 dates it to 1996. Condition is very good with wear that reads as thirty years of playing: a few dings and scratches on the top with one more noticeable on the lower bout, a patch of strum wear, some checking at the fretboard binding, and a fair amount of tarnish on the nickel hardware. The knobs show internal cracks but remain fully functional, there's a small stain visible inside the back through the F hole, and the interior label has come loose but is included in the case.

The mahogany neck is a '60s-style Slim C carve (.795" at the 1st fret, .890" at the 12th) in nitro, set into the body the way a 335 should be. A rosewood fretboard with cream binding and mother-of-pearl dot inlays sits over a 12" radius, with 22 medium jumbo frets, a 24.75" scale length, and a 1 11/16" Corian nut. The Slim C is the fast one in the Gibson catalog — it suits players who spend time above the 12th fret and don't want to fight a neck to get there. The headstock carries the mother-of-pearl Gibson logo and crown, with an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, stopbar tailpiece, and Grover Rotomatic tuners in nickel.

The guitar currently has a pair of Jim Wagner Crossroads humbuckers installed, with the original Gibson '57 Classics included. The Crossroads are a well-regarded boutique PAF-style wind — open, dynamic, and articulate, with the midrange character that makes a semi-hollow sit right in a mix rather than blur into it. Wired to two volumes, two tones, and a 3-way toggle, the range runs from warm, woody neck-pickup jazz tones to bridge-position bite that holds together under overdrive. Whether you're a blues or roots player who wants a real '90s Nashville 335, a working guitarist after a semi-hollow that's already broken in, or a collector drawn to an uncommon limited-edition finish, this one is the real thing. This Used 1996 Gibson ES-335 Dot Figured Top (Serial #92356482) includes its original Gibson brown hardshell case with pink interior, the original '57 Classic humbuckers, and the interior label.
