1980s BC Rich Eagle Standard Natural

$4,000

Early-Mid 1980s BC Rich Eagle Standard Natural
Serial Number: 86894
Weight: 8.32 lbs
Condition: Very food condition, Early to Mid 1980s Model. Labelled as "early to mid 1980s" because the serial would date to 1986, however BC Rich serial numbers are notoriously unreliable during the 80s. Potentiometer codes are not visible. Guitar shows some wear consistant with age. Body show a handful of small dings, one through the finish on the edge of the bass side lower bout of top. Back shows some buckle rash. Hardware shows some light tarnish, pitting. Original DiMarzio Humbuckers, aftermarket Locking Tuners, original Schallers included in the case. Aftermarket Stoptail tailpiece/studs, original Badass bridge and studs include. Comes with original hardshell case.

This early-to-mid 1980s B.C. Rich Eagle Standard in Natural (Serial #86894) is a maple neck-through Eagle with its original DiMarzio humbuckers still installed. The body pairs a maple through-neck with maple wings, separated by rosewood stringers, under a gloss natural finish that shows off the laminate. It weighs 8.32 lb. The serial would point to 1986, but B.C. Rich serials from the '80s are notoriously unreliable, so we've dated it to the early-to-mid part of the decade. As a used instrument it shows some wear for its age: a handful of small dings, one through the finish on the bass-side lower bout edge, some buckle rash on the back, and light tarnish and pitting on the hardware.

The maple neck has a C carve (.840" at the 1st fret, .975" at the 12th) with a gloss finish. The rosewood fretboard has mother of pearl diamond inlays, a 12" radius, and 24 jumbo frets on a 24.635" scale. The bone nut measures 1.65". Because the neck runs through the body, there's no bolted joint in the way of the upper frets. The headstock has a rosewood veneer, a mother of pearl "R," and a brass truss rod cover. The guitar currently wears aftermarket locking tuners and an aftermarket stoptail tailpiece. The original Schaller tuners and the original Badass bridge and studs come in the case, so returning it to stock is easy.

Both pickups are original DiMarzios: a PAF in the neck and a Super Distortion in the bridge. The control set is deep, with two volumes, a master tone, a 3-way toggle, a coil tap for each pickup, reverse phase, and a Varitone tone filter. That gets you full humbucker drive, lighter tapped tones, out-of-phase honk, and the Varitone's voiced EQ notches without touching a pedal. Whether you play hard rock or classic metal, or you collect '80s B.C. Rich, this Eagle Standard is ready to go. (Serial #86894) Includes the original hardshell case. Order today from Brian's Guitars.
