This 2001 Benedetto Benny 7 in Walnut is a chambered solidbody archtop-style jazz guitar, built around a carved spruce top and a chambered mahogany body finished in gloss nitrocellulose lacquer with grained ivoroid body binding. Its "N" serial prefix places it among the guitars built at the Fender Custom Shop's Nashville facility under Bob Benedetto's personal supervision between 2000 and 2002 — a short, sought-after chapter in Benedetto history under Bob's licensing arrangement with Fender, before he returned to building guitars under his own name in Savannah, Georgia. This example weighs a comfortable 8.4 lbs. and comes in Very Good condition, showing honest player wear consistent with its age — light scratching and finish swirl, a handful of small body dings, and some light tarnish on the gold hardware.

The set-neck mahogany neck shares the same Benny 7 shape as the body and is capped with an ebony fretboard, black fretboard binding, and a single floral inlay at the 12th fret. A 12" radius, 22 medium jumbo frets, a 25.5" scale length, and a 1 3/4" Tusq nut add up to a full, comfortable feel suited equally to chord-melody work and long single-note runs. The stained flame maple headstock carries Benedetto's gold logo and is fitted with Gotoh tuners with ebony buttons, while a gold-finished Tune-O-Matic bridge and floating tailpiece deliver the intonation stability and woody sustain archtop players look for.

The electronics center around a pair of Benedetto humbuckers — one at the neck, one at the bridge — wired to simple volume and tone controls with a 3-way selector for quick switching between them, from warm, round neck-pickup jazz tones to a brighter, more cutting bridge voice for comping and solos. This one currently wears flatwound strings, which suits the guitar's chambered, woody voice well. Whether you're a working jazz guitarist, a session player after a distinctive chambered archtop tone, or a collector after a Benedetto in honest, playable condition, this Walnut Benny 7 (Serial #N13100) includes its original Benedetto hardshell case.
