Condition: Very good condition, 2007 model. Guitar shows some wear from use. Body shows some scratching/swirling in the clearcoat. Body shows some dings on the top, sides, and back. Pickguard shows some scratches. Hardware shows some light cloudiness. Tuner buttons have been changed to Ivoroid buttons (Photos coming soon). Comes with original hardshell case.

This 2007 Collings 290 in Tobacco Sunburst is a solid mahogany slab-body electric finished in high-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer, and it does exactly what Collings built the 290 to do: no carved top, no fuss, just great wood and great pickups. At 7.46 lbs. it hangs easy for a full set. This one is a 2007 build in very good used condition and it shows honest play wear — scratching and swirling in the clearcoat, dings on the top, sides, and back, some scratches on the black pickguard, and light cloudiness on the hardware.

The mahogany neck is a C carve (.860" at the 1st fret, .995" at the 12th) with a high-gloss nitro finish and set-neck construction for sustain and a solid, connected feel. A rosewood fretboard with ivoroid dot inlays, 12" radius, 22 medium frets, 24-7/8" scale length, and a 1 11/16" bone nut make for a comfortable, fast-playing hand feel that splits the difference between vintage and modern. The headstock wears an ebony veneer with a mother-of-pearl Collings logo. Hardware is period-correct and simple: a Kluson ABR-1 bridge, Kluson stop tailpiece, nickel finish throughout, and Gotoh tuners with the Collings logo, fitted with ivoroid buttons.

A pair of Lollar P90s handles the voice, wired to two volumes, two tones, and a 3-way toggle.
