This 2023 Dingwall D-ROC Standard 5-String in Matte Metallic Black (Serial #23W0049) is a used, modern multi-scale bass built for players who want tight, focused low end from a 5-string. The headliner is the fanned-fret 34–37" scale. The low B gets the extra length it needs for real tension and definition, while the higher strings sit at a more familiar length. The body is khaya under a matte metallic black finish, with matte black hardware and a wood grain vinyl pickguard that breaks up the dark look. It weighs 9.5 lb.
The 5-piece maple neck uses Dingwall’s D-ROC carve (.825" at the 1st fret, .925" at the 12th fret) with a matte finish that stays fast under your hand. A pau ferro fretboard with mother of pearl dot inlays, a 9.45" radius, and 20 banjo frets keeps the feel low and precise. The nut is 1.71" wide and cut from GraphTech Black Tusq. The bolt-on construction gives the D-ROC a punchy, articulate attack with strong note separation. Hardware includes Dingwall’s one-piece “Minimalist” bridge and Hipshot Licensed Ultralite tuners, which keep the headstock light and help with neck balance.
Electronics are Dingwall FD3n pickups with neodymium magnets, wired to volume, tone, and a 4-position Quad-Tone pickup selector.
