This 2023 Eastman T59/TV-RD in Truetone Vintage Red (Serial #P2301218) is Eastman’s semi-hollowbody with a vintage look and vintage-voiced pickups. The top and body are deluxe flamed maple laminate under Eastman’s Truetone Vintage gloss finish, and the flame shows through the red. Ivoroid binding trims the body, neck, and headstock, and a multi-ply black pickguard and relic nickel hardware complete the look. It weighs 7.72 lb. This used example is in very good condition, with some wear from playing. The top has a handful of tiny dings, scratches, and some swirling. There are a few scratches and dings on the treble side of the back, and the headstock veneer has some light scratches.

The maple neck has a full C carve (.860" at the 1st fret, .935" at the 12th fret) with a Truetone Vintage gloss finish. Players who like a neck with some size to it will feel at home. The bound ebony fretboard has pearl split block inlays and a 12" radius. It carries 22 medium jumbo Jescar 47104-P frets on a 24.75" scale. The bone nut is 1.72" wide, which leaves a little extra room between strings for clean chord voicings. The set-neck construction adds sustain and gives notes a smooth, woody attack. Gotoh handles the hardware: a GE104B relic bridge, a GE101A relic stopbar tailpiece, and SD90 relic tuners, all in relic nickel. The black headstock has a pearl Eastman logo and ivoroid binding.

The pickups are a pair of Seymour Duncan Antiquity humbuckers, an aged, vintage-voiced set. They’re wired to two volume controls, two tone controls, and a 3-way toggle. The neck pickup is warm and round for jazz lines, and the bridge pickup has enough bite for blues and classic rock, with the woody resonance a semi-hollow adds. Whether you’re a blues player, a jazz guitarist, or someone looking for a vintage-style semi-hollow to play every day, the T59/TV-RD covers a lot of ground. It comes with its original hardshell case (Serial #P2301218).
