This 2024 ESP E-II Eclipse Full Thickness in Tobacco Sunburst is built at ESP's Tokyo factory, the line formerly known as ESP Standard and aimed at players who won't compromise on tone, feel, or reliability. Full Thickness means what it says — a traditionally thick body, not the contoured take — which puts more mahogany under the flamed maple top and gives the guitar a fuller, more resonant low end. The gloss Tobacco Sunburst reads beautifully across the flame, edged in single-ply cream binding, and it weighs 8.82 lbs. This example (Serial #ES7883243) is in excellent condition, with some light swirling in the clearcoat on the body and no other notable wear.
The mahogany neck is carved to a thin U profile (.790" at the 1st fret, .870" at the 12th) with a satin back for a fast, drag-free feel, joined with set-thru construction for deep sustain and clean upper-fret access. The bound ebony fretboard carries ESP flag inlays, with a 305mm (12") radius, 22 extra-jumbo stainless steel frets, a 24.75" scale length, and a 42mm bone nut. Stainless wire outlasts nickel silver by a wide margin and makes bends feel slick, while the shorter scale keeps string tension relaxed. Hardware runs Gotoh throughout: a Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece with Gotoh locking tuners above, all in black, with ESP strap locks installed and a pearloid E-II and three-piece diamond inlay on the bound headstock.
Fishman Fluence Open Core Classic humbuckers sit in both positions, and they're the most flexible part of the guitar. Fluence's core-printed design sidesteps the noise and inductance issues of traditional winding, and push-pull controls give you three distinct voicings — a vintage PAF character, a hotter modern humbucker, and a single-coil mode — so this covers everything from clean jazz through classic rock into full-gain territory. Two volumes, a tone, and a 3-way toggle keep the layout traditional. Whether you're a metal player who wants a single-cut that keeps up, a session guitarist who needs real tonal range from one instrument, or a player looking for a Japanese-built alternative to the usual suspects, the Eclipse Full Thickness delivers. This ESP E-II Eclipse (Serial #ES7883243) includes its original ESP form-fitting hardshell case and accessories. Order today from Brian's Guitars.
