This 2025 EVH MIJ Series Wolfgang in Ivory is Eddie Van Halen's signature model built in Japan to his touring specs, and the MIJ Series is where the appointments get serious. A basswood body with a big leaf maple top wears gloss urethane in ivory with five-ply cream binding, black knurled control knobs, and chrome eye hook strap buttons, all under a black headstock with ivory EVH and Wolfgang decals. It comes in at 8.28 lbs. This used example (Serial #JFE2500239) is in mint condition and shows little to no wear.

The bolt-on quartersawn maple neck is sculpted to Eddie's spec (.805" at the 1st fret, .890" at the 12th) with graphite reinforcement against climate-induced warping and a heel-mount truss rod spoke wheel for fast adjustments without pulling the neck. The back is hand-rubbed satin urethane, so nothing drags under the thumb. The ebony fretboard carries pearloid block inlays and a 12"–16" compound radius — rounder down low where chords live, flatter up top for bends that don't choke — with 22 vintage-size stainless steel frets that outlast nickel silver by a wide margin. Scale length is 25.5" with a 1.650" Floyd Rose R2 locking nut. The bridge is an EVH-branded top-mount Floyd Rose rated for dive bombs, with fine tuners for each string and the patented EVH D-Tuna for jumping between drop D and standard mid-song. EVH-branded Gotoh tuners in chrome hold the other end.

The pickups are direct-mounted EVH Wolfgang humbuckers, custom wound with an alnico 2 in the bridge and an alnico 3 in the neck. The bridge brings punch, articulation, and thick chunky rhythms with sweet sustain; the neck delivers creamy lead tones and cleans up cleanly when you roll the volume back. That volume knob is EVH's BI Tech HPU low-friction design for smooth, even swells, paired with a Bourns high-friction tone knob that stays put if you bump it, a reverse-oriented 3-way toggle, and a lower bout kill switch for stutter effects.
