This used Fender 75th Anniversary American Professional PJ Bass in 2-Color Sunburst is a limited-edition build marking three-quarters of a century of the Precision Bass, and the appointments reflect the occasion. An alder body carries a flame maple top under gloss 2-color sunburst, set off by a 3-ply mint green pickguard and gold-plated hardware throughout — a combination Fender doesn't put on a production P Bass. It weighs 8.98 lbs. This example (Serial #US25109786) is in near-mint condition; the sticker and plastic wrap have been pulled off the pickguard, and it shows little to no wear otherwise.

The maple neck is carved to a 1963 "C" profile (.820" at the 1st fret, .980" at the 12th) with a satin urethane finish and rolled fingerboard edges, bolted on with a newly sculpted heel that opens up the upper register. The maple fretboard carries black dot inlays, with a 9.5" radius, 20 medium jumbo frets, a 34" scale length, and a 1.625" bone nut. That's a comfortable, modern-feeling neck on a vintage-profile bass — the rolled edges in particular make a real difference over long sets. A vintage HiMass top-loaded 4-saddle bridge transfers string energy efficiently for stronger sustain, and Fender's lightweight vintage-style tuning keys with tapered shafts improve break angle at the nut while cutting down on neck dive.

The PJ configuration is the reason to reach for this one. A 75th Anniversary Precision Bass split-coil in the middle position lays down the foundational P-Bass thump that has anchored records for seventy-five years, while a 75th Anniversary Jazz Bass single-coil at the bridge adds articulate growl and bite. Blend them with the two volumes and a tone control and you get the full range in one instrument — thick and round for a rock or soul session, tighter and more cutting when you need to sit above a dense mix. Whether you're a session bassist who needs one instrument that covers every call, a gigging player who wants both classic voices without a second bass on the stand, or a collector after a limited-run anniversary Fender, this PJ delivers. This 75th Anniversary American Professional PJ Bass (Serial #US25109786) includes its original Fender hardshell case and accessories. Order today from Brian's Guitars, your authorized Fender dealer.
