The 2016 Fender American Elite Telecaster in Butterscotch Blonde is the classic Tele shape with real upgrades. Ash body, gloss urethane finish, black body binding for a cleaner look than a standard Tele. It weighs 7.64 lbs. Condition is very good, with visible use: clearcoat scratches on the top, back, and sides, scratches on the pickguard, bridge, and control plate, a few small dings on the back, and one spot on the treble-side binding where the clearcoat has separated (the clear coat itself is still mostly intact). This is a guitar that's been played, priced like one, and still has plenty of life left.
The neck is the standout feature. It's a 1-piece maple neck with Fender's compound Modern "C" to "D" shape (.820" at the 1st fret, .890" at the 12th) — slimmer near the nut, fuller up the neck, so it works equally well for chords and lead lines. The maple fretboard uses a compound 9.5" to 14" radius, flatter up top for easier bending without buzzing out. You get 22 medium jumbo frets, a 25.5" scale length, a 1.685" bone nut, and a satin polyurethane back finish on the bolt-on neck for fast, low-friction playability. The bridge is a 6-saddle American Tele unit with chromed brass saddles, and the tuners are Deluxe cast/sealed locking tuners — quick string changes, solid tuning stability.
Electronics are a pair of Fender 4th Generation Noiseless single-coils — full Tele twang and clarity, no 60-cycle hum. The volume knob has Fender's S-1 switch built in: push it in and the middle pickup position runs the bridge and neck pickups in series, adding a fatter, hotter tone option beyond the standard three. Controls are rounded out with a tone knob and 3-way blade selector. It's a good fit for country, blues, rock, or session work — anywhere you want classic Tele tone with a couple extra tricks. This 2016 Fender American Elite Telecaster (Serial #US16024444) comes with its original Fender Elite molded hardshell case. Order today from Brian's Guitars, your authorized Fender dealer.
