The guitar shows a handful of small dings on the body, the nitro finish shows some checking. The pickups have been replaced with custom Jim Rolph '59 Strat hand-wound pickups. This 2009 Fender Custom Shop '59 Stratocaster NOS is a rare piece even by Custom Shop standards, built with a Brazilian rosewood fretboard, a prized and increasingly hard-to-source tonewood rarely found even on Custom Shop instruments. The 2-piece alder body has been professionally refinished by Historic Makeovers in Deep Ferrari Yellow using non-plasticized nitrocellulose lacquer, a specialist refinish process well regarded among vintage-style collectors, with the headstock refinished to match and fitted with a replacement Fender decal. At 7.38 lbs., it carries vintage-spec heft.
The 4-bolt AA flame maple neck carries a '60s-style Oval "C" profile (.815" at the 1st fret, .930" at the 12th) in a lightly tinted nitrocellulose finish, topped with that Brazilian rosewood fretboard, white dot inlays, and a 10" radius across 21 narrow tall frets (Sanko 6105 wire) and the full 25.5" scale length. A 1.650" bone nut leads to vintage-style tuners in chrome, while a vintage-style six-screw synchronized tremolo with bent steel saddles delivers classic Strat vibrato feel and tone. An aftermarket Callaham bakelite pickguard — a respected upgrade among vintage Strat enthusiasts for its tonal and cosmetic authenticity — completes the look.
Electronics have been replaced with a full set of Jim Rolph '59 Strat hand-wound single-coils, a boutique pickup maker prized for painstaking, vintage-accurate winding, wired to a standard volume, dual tone, and 5-way blade selector layout. This particular example is in excellent condition for a 2009 model, showing a handful of small dings on the body and some finish checking consistent with the aged nitro finish, and comes with the original Fender Custom Shop hardshell case, Shop Floor Traveler, Certificate of Authenticity, and accessories — original pickups are not included. Whether you're a collector drawn to the rare Brazilian rosewood fretboard, a player who wants a professionally refinished Custom Shop Strat with boutique hand-wound pickups already installed, or a vintage tone enthusiast who appreciates the Historic Makeovers refinish process, this '59 Strat NOS delivers real rarity alongside real craftsmanship. This Fender Custom Shop '59 Strat NOS Deep Ferrari Yellow (Serial #R45843) includes the original Custom Shop hardshell case, Shop Floor Traveler, and Certificate of Authenticity.
