This Used Gibson Custom Burst Brothers 1959 Les Paul Reissue in Honey Tea Burst is one of only 33 made as part of a limited Guitar Center-exclusive run from 2010. A flame maple top hand-picked by vintage experts Dave Belzer and Drew Berlin (the Burst Brothers) over a mahogany body, finished in VOS nitrocellulose lacquer with cream binding, the Honey Tea Burst showing off the figure without the heavy fade that hides it. At 8.86 lbs. it's right in the historically-accurate weight range for a '59. This 2010 example is in excellent condition with light wear: one small ding on the front top edge of the headstock, one on the top, and a handful on the back of the body. It comes with all original paperwork and certificates.
The mahogany neck is carved to Gibson's '59 Rounded C profile (.870" at the 1st fret, .960" at the 12th) in gloss VOS nitro, joined with a long-tenon set-neck for maximum wood contact, sustain, and the tonal transfer that defines a Historic Reissue. A rosewood fretboard with cream binding and mother-of-pearl trapezoid inlays, 12" radius, 22 vintage frets, 24.75" scale length, and a 1 11/16" nylon nut deliver an authentic late-'50s hand feel. The headstock carries the mother-of-pearl Gibson logo with the thin gold sparkle "Les Paul Model" script. Hardware is period-correct nickel throughout: an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, stopbar tailpiece, and Gibson Deluxe tuners.
The pickups are where a Burst Brothers Les Paul separates itself — a matched pair of humbuckers wound to Burst Brothers spec, chosen for the clarity, midrange character, and dynamic response that made original PAFs legendary. Wired to two volumes, two tones, and a 3-way toggle, the range covers warm, vocal neck-pickup leads, cutting bridge crunch, and the middle-position blend that cleans up beautifully off the volume knob. Whether you're a blues or classic rock player after the real '59 experience, a working guitarist who wants a Historic-grade Les Paul that gets played rather than displayed, or a collector who knows what a limited run Burst Brothers piece represents, this one earns its keep. This Used 2010 Gibson Custom Burst Brothers 1959 Les Paul Reissue (Serial #B9 0020) includes its original Gibson Custom hardshell case, paperwork, and certificates.
