Serial Number: 0 06661
Weight: 9.2 lbs.
Condition: Very good condition, 2000 model. Guitar shows some light wear. Top shows some light scratches/swirling, a handful of tiny dings. "1960" on the pickguard is a bit faded. Two small finish checks on the cutaway horn. Back and sides of the body show scratches, some small dings. Hardware shows some light tarnish/cloudiness. Headstock face shows some scratches/swirls, checking around the Gibson inlay. One scratch on the back of the neck, treble side near 15th fret. Comes with original Gibson Hardshell case.

This 2000 Gibson Les Paul Classic 1960 in Heritage Cherry Sunburst brings Gibson's vintage-spec Classic model to a 25-year-old example, pairing a carved maple top with a mahogany body and the desirable 1960 Slim Taper neck profile prized for splitting the difference between vintage feel and modern playability. Finished in gloss nitrocellulose lacquer in Heritage Cherry Sunburst with single-ply cream binding, it weighs in at 9.2 lbs.

The mahogany neck carries the 1960 Slim Taper profile (.800" at the 1st fret, .895" at the 12th), topped with a rosewood fretboard bound in cream, pearl trapezoid inlays, and a 12" radius across 22 medium jumbo frets and the classic 24.75" Gibson scale length. A 1 11/16" nylon nut leads to Gibson Deluxe tuners in nickel, and an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge with stopbar tailpiece rounds out hardware built for sustain and full intonation adjustability.

Electronics come from a higher-output pairing built for rock and hard rock tones: a Gibson USA 496R humbucker at the neck and 500T at the bridge, wired to independent volume and tone controls per pickup and a 3-way toggle selector. This particular example is in very good condition for a 2000 model, showing honest player wear (light scratches and swirling with a handful of tiny dings on the top, a faded "1960" pickguard marking, two small finish checks on the cutaway horn, scratches and small dings on the back and sides, light hardware tarnish, headstock scratching and checking around the Gibson inlay, and a scratch on the back of the neck near the 15th fret), and comes with the original Gibson hardshell case. Whether you're a player who wants a 25-year-old Gibson Classic, a tone-chaser drawn to the 496R/500T pairing's higher output, or a collector interested in an aging example of this vintage-spec model, this Les Paul Classic 1960 delivers authentic Gibson tone and history.
