$1,600

Used 1999 Gibson Les Paul Classic Heritage Cherry Sunburst
Serial Number: 9 4369
Weight: 9.08 lbs.
Condition: Good condition, 1999 model. Guitar shows some wear. Top shows some scratches, swirls, scuffs, one indented scratch on the lower bout, and a handful of finish checks around the treble side of the neck pickup ring, and near the bridge tone control. Back and sides of the body show scratches, dings, and some finish scuffs. Back of the neck shows some nicks and dings. Headstock is scratched and shows checking around the logo. Hardware shows some finish pitting/tarnishing. Frets show some wear, have been leveled. Pickguard is uninstalled and not included. Comes with a non-original Gibson Chainsaw case with one latch missing, still functional.

This 1999 Gibson Les Paul Classic in Heritage Cherry Sunburst brings genuine Nashville-built Gibson construction — a carved maple top over a mahogany body, Gibson's 1960 Slim Taper neck profile, and a set of USA-made 496R/500T humbuckers — to a price point well below what you'd pay for a comparable current-production model. The solidbody Les Paul shape is finished in gloss nitrocellulose lacquer, showing genuine play and age at 9.08 lbs., with single-ply cream body and fretboard binding carrying the classic appointments through.

The mahogany neck's 1960 Slim Taper profile (.800" at the 1st fret, .880" at the 12th) is a comfortable, fast-playing shape that splits the difference between vintage feel and modern ease, topped with a rosewood fretboard, pearl trapezoid inlays, and a 12" radius across 22 medium jumbo frets and the full 24.75" Gibson scale length. A 1 11/16" nylon nut leads to Gibson Deluxe tuners in nickel, with a Gibson ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece handling intonation and sustain.

Electronically, the Gibson USA 496R humbucker at the neck and 500T at the bridge — a higher-output pairing built for rock and hard rock tones — are wired to independent volume and tone controls per pickup with a 3-way toggle selector, giving a wide range from articulate cleans to thick, saturated lead tone. This particular example is in good, honestly-played condition for a 1999 model, with visible cosmetic wear throughout: finish scratches, swirls, and scuffs on the top including one indented scratch on the lower bout, finish checking near the neck pickup ring and bridge tone control, scratches and dings on the back and sides, nicks on the neck back, headstock scratching and checking around the logo, tarnished hardware, and frets that have been leveled from wear. The pickguard is not included, and it comes with a non-original Gibson Chainsaw hardshell case with one latch missing (still functional). Whether you're a player who wants genuine Nashville-built Gibson tone at a real player-grade price, someone building a beater/backup Les Paul for the road, or a tinkerer who doesn't mind a guitar with history, this Classic delivers authentic Gibson tone without the collector-grade price tag.
