This 2019 Gibson Les Paul Standard 50s P-90 in Goldtop is the version of the Standard that goes back to the original recipe — the Goldtop finish, the P-90s, and the fat 50s neck that together defined the Les Paul before humbuckers ever arrived. A solid mahogany body with a maple top does the tonal heavy lifting, the mahogany bringing warmth and sustain while the maple adds cut and clarity on top, all under gloss nitrocellulose lacquer that lets the wood breathe and ages the way nitro is supposed to. At 9.64 lbs., this is a substantial Les Paul, and that mass is where the long sustain and dense low end come from. Condition is near-mint with little to no wear beyond some light swirling in the clearcoat on the body.

The mahogany neck is carved to Gibson's 50s Vintage profile (.875" at the 1st fret, .985" at the 12th fret), a full, rounded shape that gives your hand something to hold and encourages the kind of vibrato and bending the guitar is famous for, glued in with traditional set-neck construction for maximum transfer between neck and body. The rosewood fretboard is bound in cream and inlaid with acrylic trapezoids, running a 12" radius over 22 medium jumbo frets to a 1.695" Graph Tech nut, with the 24.75" scale length keeping tension relaxed and bends easy. An ABR-1 Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece anchor the strings for stability and sustain, hardware is nickel throughout, and a cream pickguard sits against the gold to finish the classic look. The tuners have been swapped for Kluson locking units — a practical upgrade for anyone who changes strings often or leans on the bar-free bends this neck invites — and the original set is included in the case if you'd rather put it back to stock.

The pair of P-90s is what separates this from a humbucker Les Paul: Alnico 5 single-coils with the raw, midrange-forward voice and immediate attack that P-90 players chase, growling and thick when you dig in and surprisingly sweet when you back off. They run through two volumes and two tones with audio taper potentiometers and Orange Drop capacitors and a 3-way toggle, a combination that makes the controls genuinely usable — roll the volume down for clean, glassy jangle without losing top end, or push it wide open for the punchy breakup that cuts through a band. Whether you're a blues player after grit with definition, a rock or punk guitarist who wants a Les Paul with more bark than a humbucker gives, or a collector looking for a clean Goldtop P-90 in the classic spec, this one covers it. This used 2019 Gibson Les Paul Standard 50s P-90 Goldtop (Serial #106090269) includes its original Gibson hardshell case, accessories, and the original tuners.
