This 2015 Gibson Les Paul Standard in Desert Burst pairs a AAA-grade figured maple top with a mahogany body, showing real depth and chatoyance under the gloss nitrocellulose finish in Desert Burst. At 8.4 lbs., it carries the substantial, resonant heft Les Paul Standards are known for.
The mahogany neck carries Gibson's Slim Taper profile (.810" at the 1st fret, .900" at the 12th), topped with a rosewood fretboard bound in cream, acrylic trapezoid inlays, and a compound 12" radius across 22 medium jumbo frets and the classic 24.75" Gibson scale length. A 1.695" Corian nut leads to Gibson Deluxe tuners in nickel, and the guitar has been upgraded with an aftermarket Faber ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece — a widely respected bridge upgrade among Les Paul players for improved sustain and string-to-string balance over the stock unit.
Electronics come from a matched pair of Burstbucker Alnico IV humbuckers, wired to independent volume and tone controls per pickup and a 3-way toggle selector for classic Les Paul tone-shaping. This particular example is in excellent condition for a 2015 model, showing honest player wear (light indentations and swirl marks on the top, swirls, scratches, and buckle rash on the back and sides, headstock edge wear with some checking around the Gibson logo, and light hardware cloudiness), and comes with the original hardshell case, though the case's lock latch is broken off. Whether you're a player who wants a Les Paul Standard with a meaningful bridge upgrade already installed, a tone-chaser drawn to the Burstbucker Alnico IV pickups' vintage-inspired output, or someone looking for a real player-grade Standard with figured maple looks, this Desert Burst delivers distinctive tone and real value.
