The PRS SE NF 53 in Purple Doghair brings the platform Paul Reed Smith based on a treasured 1953 guitar from his own collection into the SE line — a bolt-on swamp ash T-style with PRS engineering and a striking finish that shows the grain through the color. At 6.48 lbs. it's a light, resonant guitar that hangs easy through long sets. The maple neck uses the NF 53 carve (7/8" at the 1/2 fret, 31/32" at the 12 1/2 fret) with a fast satin finish, bolted on for the snap and attack that defines the T-style voice. A maple fretboard with PRS bird inlays sits over a 10" radius, with 22 frets, a 25.5" scale length, and a comfortable 1 41/64" synthetic nut. The headstock is natural with the SE logo. Hardware is nickel: a steel PRS plate-style bridge for solid coupling and sustain, paired with PRS-designed tuners with wing buttons.
The pickups are where the NF 53 makes its case.
