This 2019 PRS Silver Sky in Frost (Serial #0289671) is the John Mayer signature model, built to his exact specs and inspired by the vintage single-coil guitars he grew up on. The body is alder, finished in high-gloss nitro. Alder gives the Silver Sky a balanced, full-range voice with strong mids. Frost is a pale, icy blue that was among the first finishes offered when the Silver Sky launched. This one weighs a light 6.98 lb.

The maple neck has the 635JM carve (27/32" at the 1/2 fret, 31/32" at the 12 1/2 fret), a full profile modeled on Mayer’s favorite vintage necks. The rosewood fretboard has small bird inlays, a vintage 7.25" radius, and 22 tall/narrow frets. The rounder radius makes chords feel natural, and the tall frets keep bends easy. Other specs include a 25.5" scale, a 1.656" bone nut, and a nitro neck finish. The bolt-on joint adds snap and quick attack. The reversed natural headstock is one of the Silver Sky’s signature details. A PRS steel tremolo with bent saddles adds vintage chime and smooth vibrato. Vintage-style locking tuners hold tuning steady, and the hardware is nickel.

Three PRS 635JM Single-coil pickups were voiced with Mayer to capture classic single-coil sparkle, chime, and quack. The middle pickup is reverse polarity, so positions 2 and 4 cancel hum. The layout is 1 volume, 2 tones, and a 5-way blade switch. Whether you’re a blues player, a John Mayer fan who wants his tone, or a session guitarist who needs reliable single-coil sounds, this used Silver Sky delivers. It’s in excellent condition, with a handful of swirls, light clearcoat scratches, and a few small dings on the back. An aftermarket 3-ply parchment pickguard has been installed and shows some scratches. This one (Serial #0289671) comes with its original PRS Premium Gigbag, Tremolo Arm, and a case candy.
