This 2013 Taylor Custom Grand Orchestra in Indian Rosewood is a Taylor Custom Shop build, pairing a solid Sitka spruce top with Taylor's V-Class-predecessor CV bracing pattern and a solid Indian rosewood body for rich low-end warmth and complex overtones — the tonewood combination prized by fingerstyle and flatpicking players alike. The Grand Orchestra body shape splits the difference between Taylor's Grand Auditorium and full dreadnought, delivering broad dynamic range and volume without excess bulk, and at just 5.2 lbs. it's remarkably light and resonant for its size. Custom Shop details set this one apart visually: figured maple body binding with black/white/black purfling, an abalone 3-ring rosette, and a figured maple-bound ebony veneer headstock — cosmetic touches you won't find on Taylor's standard production line.

The mahogany neck carries a Standard profile (.845" at the 1st fret, .880" at the 9th), bolted on for easy neck resets down the road, and topped with an Indian rosewood fretboard bound in figured maple, 4mm mother-of-pearl dot inlays, and a 15" radius across 20 frets and the full 25.5" scale length. A 1.75" nut leads to Gotoh 510 tuners finished in antique gold, and an ebony bridge anchors the strings to the top. Plugged in, Taylor's ES2 preamp delivers the brand's signature natural, uncolored amplified tone with onboard volume, bass, and treble controls — stage- and studio-ready without altering the guitar's acoustic voice.

This particular example is in very good condition for a 2013 model, showing honest player wear (light scratches, scuffs, and small clearcoat dings on the body, a tiny ding near the 12th fret on the neck back, and light discoloration on the tuner buttons) along with a few thoughtful upgrades: an aftermarket nut and compensated saddle, an aftermarket clear pickguard, and a Music Nomad Acousti-Lok strap lock adapter installed at the output jack/strap button. It comes with the original Taylor hardshell case. Whether you're a fingerstyle player chasing rosewood's complex overtones, a performing singer-songwriter who needs onboard electronics for the stage, or a collector drawn to Custom Shop-only appointments, this Grand Orchestra delivers premium Taylor tone and build quality.
